Custom Home Builders Committee, NAHB, Washington, D.C.

The Custom Home Builders Committee is a fifteen member board responsible for establishing policies and educational programs for the custom builder members of the National Association Of Home Builders.

Design Committee, NAHB, Washington, D.C.

The Design Committee is a twenty-member board responsible for promoting design, on a national basis within the homebuilders association. We do this by organizing and implementing design seminars and workshops throughout the country. We also work closely with several national publications to spot design trends around the country.

Chairman / Design Institute Subcommittee, NAHB, Washington, D.C.

Helped create and implement a program within the NAHB called the Design Institute. Working with nationally know architects the institute is a three-day workshop designed to help builders and architects better understand residential architecture. This program has grown in popularity and is now become an annual event.

Chairman / Design - Custom Build Subcommittee, NAHB, Washington, D.C.

Was asked to chair a subcommittee to help establish design guidelines and educational programs for custom builders.

2009 President responsible for creating, implementing and overseeing policies regarding all aspects of running the Home Builders Association

Urban Neighborhood Development Board of Trustees, Akron, Ohio

Trustee member on a five-person board whose function is to provide affordable housing in blighted Akron neighborhoods. My role on the board is to provide input on architecture and construction.

Responsibilities include, reviewing plans and specifications, reviewing site selections, reviewing construction progress and approving payments, reviewing and rewarding contracts.

Summit County Housing Authority, Akron, Ohio

Vice Chairman of a committee that helps inner city housing projects acquire funding through federal and county grants.

Newton Crossings / Honodle Project, Akron Ohio

Reviewed and made design suggestions, based on historical accuracy, on eighteen residential projects submitted for consideration for an affordable housing project sponsored by the City of Akron and the Summit County HBA.

Chairman / 2007 Codes Committee / Summit County HBA

Chair monthly meetings which bring county building officials and builders together to discuss building codes issues

Chairman / Best Homes Design Competition / Summit County HBA

Helped organize 2005, 2006, 2007,2008 best homes competition.

Chairman / 2006, 2007,2008 Single Site Parade of Homes / Summit County HBA

Responsible for coordinating the project developer, HBA and builders. Also responsible for keeping all Parade costs in line with the HBA budget.
